Harrah's Laughlin is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook II to join our culinary team at Smashburger and other resort dining outlets. This role is perfect for someone who delivers exceptional Family Style Service, works well under pressure, and is committed to quality and hospitality.Key Responsibilities* Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes including meats, poultry, fish, pasta, vegetables, sauces, and pizzas.* Execute recipes and menu items according to Smashburger and Harrah's Laughlin standards.* Master cooking techniques such as sautéing, broiling, frying, baking, grilling, and pizza tossing.* Create and garnish soups-clear, thick, and regional-with precision and creativity.* Ensure proper portion control and accurate order fulfillment.* Maintain awareness of all menu items and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).* Maintain cleanliness of work areas, floors, counters, and equipment at all times.* Foster a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to SNHD and company guidelines.* Assist fellow cooks and work independently in a team-oriented kitchen.* Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to delivering "SMASHTASTIC" service.* Complete additional tasks as assigned by the management team.Qualifications & Skills* Valid Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Health Card required.* Strong knowledge of mother sauces (espagnole, velouté, béchamel, tomato) and butter sauces.* Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions in English with accuracy and speed.* Proficient in using knives, handheld tools, and kitchen equipment.* Understanding of various cooking oils and their appropriate uses and temperatures.* Ability to recognize and properly use kitchen equipment and food preparation tools.* Comfortable working unsupervised and assisting others in a collaborative environment.Physical & Work Environment Requirements* Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours with appropriate mobility and endurance.* Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling in a busy kitchen setting.* Adaptability to hot, cold, and noisy environments.* Maintain a high level of energy and urgency throughout each shift.Additional Information* Management reserves the right to revise job descriptions and assign additional responsibilities as needed.* This position is part of a dynamic resort team committed to excellence, hospitality, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
