TITLE: Office Clerk - Special Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or verifiable G.E.D.
2. Competent skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, EXCEL, and database management systems
3. Ability to organize and coordinate work and set priorities to ensure that all timelines, tasks and documents are completed
within mandated timeframes and according to local procedures
4. Ability to manage interruption of time and tasks and return to complete
5. Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members, students, teachers, parents, administrators and the general
public
6. History of dependability and good attendance
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Special Education Secretary, Preschool Coordinator, Preschool Secretary/Health Attendant
JOB GOAL: To contribute to the efficient operation of the Special Education Office
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. 1. Collect documents from department staff, parents, other schools or community , while developing an effective document
storage and filing system and digitizing hard copies of documents.
2. Manage the phone and any messages in a timely manner and direct calls to the correct schools.
3. Schedule meetings using multiple staff schedules.
4. Coordinate all IEP scheduling and paperwork for district office and schools.
5. Maintain all 504 documents, check for compliance with district and federal guidelines, and work with school administrators for timely submission and compliance.
6. Train and support clerks at school sites to schedule meetings and complete meeting notices.
7. Develop familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations regarding special education.
8. Check gains/loss list weekly to request and send special education records.
9. Maintain confidentiality.
10. Support other office staff with general office duties.
11. Comply with all special education timelines.
12. Perform office routines and practices as directed by the Director of Special Education through the Special Education
Secretary.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the District.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 days/1920 hours per year. Hourly rate and workdays established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Staff.
