This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.Perform a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled duties in maintenance, construction, and repairs.Clearing debris and cleaning of ditches.Inspects and/or repairs chlorine machine, pumping stations, and sewer systems at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the system are functioning property.Performs general clean-up work which may include sweeping and mopping of floors, emptying trash containers, washing windows, walls and sinks, restrooms; sweeping sand and debris from patios, slabs, walks, and play areas.Removes weeds and maintains landscaping.Responds to complaints regarding sewer odors, evaluates situations, and reports to supervisor.Assists in installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing sprinkler systems.Picks up trash and checks trash cans throughout the City.Operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.Maintain road right-of-ways clearing debris, cutting weeds, and cleaning ditches using required hand tools.Performs routine maintenance to assigned tools, equipment and buildings.May be required to perform daily vehicle inspections and clean and wash equipment.Operate power tools such as chain saws, concrete saws, air hammers, pavement breakers, tampers, and two-way radio.Complete required daily logs and reports.May be assigned to on-call/standby status.Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customersComplies with and promotes safe practices in agreement with the safety rules and procedures set forth. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to read printed materials and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENTS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extremely hot weather, wet and/or humid conditions, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee may also be required to work in roadways while directing traffic and permit required confined spaces after receiving the required training.
